Chapter 1

Isetan Shinjuku

11-24 March 2026

Church's brings its heritage of British shoemaking to Tokyo with a dedicated pop-up at Isetan Shinjuku. The city’s renowned department store offered visitors an exclusive preview of selected styles from the Spring-Summer 2026 collection, alongside a curated edit of signature Church’s designs and reinterpretations created exclusively for Japan. In a setting where British heritage meets Tokyo’s cosmopolitan spirit, the event invited guests to discover the enduring craftsmanship and evolving aesthetic that have defined the brand for over 150 years.

At the heart of the presentation was the iconic Pembrey penny loafer, reinterpreted with the innovative Goodyear 2.0 sole—developed by Church's artisans to enhance flexibility and comfort while preserving the durability of traditional construction. Alongside this contemporary evolution and the studded Pembrey Met, the pop-up also celebrated enduring icons such as the Consul Oxford lace-up, the Piccadilly monk strap, and the Belmont, a revival design crafted on the historic 73 last. Throughout the event, visiting craftsmen from our Northampton factory offered live demonstrations of traditional shoemaking techniques, from hand-sewing and cutting to the delicate art of finger polishing.
