In 1945 Church’s iconic Consul was created in our Northampton factory. A classic cap-toe Oxford, crafted on our most famous 173 last, its sleek, minimal elegance attracted ambassadors and politicians alike who upheld the no-nonsense, formal dress codes of the English gentleman.
Almost a century later, despite ever-changing trends and standards of dress, the Consul still remains our most popular shoe.
To celebrate its 75 year history, we present CONSUL 1945: a special anniversary edition, crafted with our most luxurious calf leather and finished with a two-tone hand-painted sole, complete with gentleman’s corner and gold block stamping.
